It’s hard to decide if you feel more at peace with the world
when a) sitting on a roof top, in a café, sipping hot lemon, ginger and honey
tea with views to the snow and rock of the Himalayas on one side and the world
heritage listed collection of temples and palace buildings of Patan Durbar
Square on the other or b) wandering around (clockwise please) the largest
Tibetan Buddhist stupa in the country. It was a big day at Boudnath as there
was a Nyingma Monlom meeting which meant that there was a Bhuddist lama in
attendance giving blessings to those who queued ..and queued…and queued…..this
was a big time line of people. Pretty well organised too…there were water
carriers walking through the crowd making sure no one got too overheated/over
wrought. Part of the ceremony was to refresh the top of the stupa with a fresh
coat of whitewash…all done with ceremony to spare.
Still not sure of the answer…so will have to do it all
again…excellent plan!
